The diversity of diving along the African coastline is extraordinary.
The cold waters of Cape Town are home to Great White sharks but as you move along the coast towards Durban the waters become warmer and so the species change. Aliwal Shoal is world famous for its tiger and ragged tooth sharks and there are also a couple of wrecks.
From north of Durban through Mozambique and Tanzania the water is warm enough to be able to support a complex coral reef system that are bursting with fish.
Throughout South Africa, Mozamabique and Tanzania there are reefs that are suitable for all levels of diver. Shallow reefs with juvenile fish are perfect for beginners but there are also much deeper reefs for those looking for more challenging wall diving. The plunging walls off Pemba Island with their strong currents provide exciting diving for the more experienced diver.
